Friday’s Feast – 109 – Week 4

Join me in Friday’s Feast!

Appetizer: What are some lyrics you have misheard (such as, instead of “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” you heard “Kick a chicken with it”)?
For the longest time I was convinced the Hot Hot Heat song was about Benadryll (it’s really bandages). I blame Oscar and Trevor for that one.

Soup: What is the worst movie you have ever seen?
Spawn. Bleh. Stupid, boring, and terrible CG. And the end.. wtf?

Salad: Using the letters from your favorite number, write a sentence. Example: Tomorrow has really easy experiences.
Teary women entered new towns yesterday to wash onions.

Main Course: What was the most interesting news story you have heard this week?
Mooove slowly and don’t hug cows. Ok by interesting, I mean amusing. Because really.. who writes an article about hugging cows?! :D

Dessert: Which word(s) would you choose to describe your wardrobe?
Mismatched, colorful, obnoxious, random.

Nerdcore!

Hahaha. This one is for Rob.

Gangsta is dead. Grime is a bore. There’s a new beat on the street and it’s called Nerdcore. This geeky hip hop subgenre, also dubbed CS rap (that’s computer science, yo!), is finally booting up with the release of Rhyme Torrents, a compilation featuring the work of more than 50 men – and even a few ladies – who bust rhymes (and C++ code). The collection is free online, so none of the artists make bank. Like all true playa MCs, they did it for the street cred. Of course, in the CS rap arena that means a Wikipedia entry, and you can’t get one of those without an official album release. Here are a few of the overclocked hustlas you can find at nerdcorehiphop.org.
