Silly Gamer Priorities

I started playing World of Warcraft again recently, since there’s the new Cataclysm expansion coming out soon. I figured I’d get established before the new content drops, blah blah blah. Anyway! Anybody that plays WoW already know all about what’s coming out so I won’t bore you with the details (cause if you don’t play WoW you probably don’t care), but, I did have to share what my two most favorite things about it are likely to be.

1: Troll Druid. ‘Nuff said.

2: OH EM GEE. I must have this adorable Moonkin Hatchling. You probably have to buy it :( And I probably will, because I’m a sucker.

If you play WoW, what are you most looking forward to in Cataclysm?

Finding Long Lost Love

Anybody that knows anything about my gaming history knows that Everquest was my first love. I played for a good 3 1/2 years, and while I was a very casual gamer (seriously. we exist!), I really enjoyed the game.

When my guild jumped ship and went to play World of Warcraft, I basically hung up my MMORPG hat. I played WoW and EQII for a couple months but didn’t like either one.

Well, the boy and I had been entertaining the notion of reactivating our accounts on some game lately, to casually run around and kill stuff every now and then. We were reminiscing with other people that had played and the such.

Yesterday I randomly remembered my EQ log-in name. After some digging, I figured out where my password recovery email wound up, activated my account and logged in this morning. My characters are still there!

… my level 65 monk is in Qvic, by herself. I don’t even know if it’s safe there. Then it came back to me. We had finished a raid, and I camped right there because I planned on never logging in again. Well… 5 years is almost like forever, right? I’m currently brainstorming on how to get her out of there alive, because I don’t remember anything about the zone.

Anyway, I logged into a low level character in a safe place and looked around, and honest to God, it’s like I never left. Everything looks exactly the same. I even remembered how to move. I’m amused.

So we’ll see how this plan works. We only expect to play maybe twice a week… it could be fun Remind me later to tell the story about how I first got into playing EQ; it’s pretty funny.

I Rediscovered My DS

Over my (very lovely) 4 day weekend, I rediscovered my Nintendo DS. I blame Cynthia for it; she was playing Animal Crossing and didn’t have all the fruit trees, so I offered to let her raid my town to take a couple pieces of fruit (she later raided it while I wasn’t looking and stole all my fruit! rawr haha).

It was all downhill from there.

A few days later, my town is free of weeds (Cynthia helped!), I have way more Pokemon than I had before (I play Diamond), I now have both Harvest Moon games (and haven’t beat either haha), and unlocked all the Cooking Mama II recipes (though I haven’t gotten gold on all of them yet).

Addicted much? Nah!

So, people with a DS.. what games do you play? Any of them that go online? If so we should totally hook up via wi-fi and do whatever happens in whatever game we both have

Sim City Societies

So, I installed Sim City Societies today. Here are my initial thoughts.

One: It’s nice that getting power to my city isn’t so god damn annoying. My biggest turnoff about the older versions is I had to actually pay attention to where I was putting water pipes and power lines. Not my thing. I just want to generate power and assume it knows where it’s going. bam! Place some windmills, produce power, go start building.

Two: … you know, I didn’t really get much further than that because the game crashes every five-ten minutes. Seriously. I didn’t even get to finish the tutorial. Lame to the MAX. The patch says it fixed the random crash bug. Yeah, it lied. Screw you patch!

Three: From what I could tell, it looks like it’d be fun.

I know a lot of people are complaining about how it’s fundamentally different from the traditional Sim City games, but since I was never overly fond of the other ones, I think that’s probably going to prove to be a good thing, for me at least. I just wish i could actually play it.

17 – The Sims 2!

So I like me my video games. Right now I’m slacking on them but when I do play, I play LOTS of Sims 2 hehe. There’s just something so fun about ruining a Sim’s life when I’ve had a bad day.

I also download tons of stuff.. you wouldn’t believe how distressed I was when I accidentally deleted my custom download folder o_O

So I’m pretty excited for the Pets expansion.. Unleashed was one of my favorites for Sims 1. Yay puppies and kitties!!
