Car Accidents Suck

So those of you that keep up with my Twitter may have already picked up that I was in a small car accident late last week. It was between my boyfriends small car and a pickup. It was low speed, but I still got bounced in my seat, and am kind of miserable on and off. My back aches if I sit still too long and my legs hurt if I stand up too long. I’m in good condition though. My boyfriends car though… not so much. He’s gotta get a new one. He’s been spending a lot of time looking at the Honda Fit, which I think is hideous but, well, it’s not my car so… /shrug.

His insurance agency has been really good though. I’ve had to talk to them a few times, and they’re covering my trip to the doctor to make sure that it’s just “normal” aches and pains (it is) and also my trips to the chiropractor, which is awesome. They put my boyfriend in a nice rental car, too.

So, I can now add “been in car accident” in my list of Things I’ve Done Before Dying :p

An Exit to Eternal Summer Slacking….

but where they going without ever knowing the way?

Random mood today. La la la.

So I went outside and was wearing my sunglasses and my raincoat at the same time, and not just because I was being random, but because they were both necessary. It was bright and sunny, and pouring rain at the same time. It made for a pretty rainbow though! It was weird today because first it was foggy, then it drizzled, then it was sunny, then it hailed, then it was sunny and raining at the same time… I think right now it’s just cold.

So we replaced 5 of the 6 spark plugs yesterday before we called it a day because it was raining on us then it got dark. The check engine light is off and the truck isn’t putt-putting anymore, but I do want to change that last one and the wires still.

I forgot what else I wanted to blog about. I am distracted by my pot pie and the fact that Tom will be here in like, 20 minutes. Ta!

Putt-Putting Along

My poor little truck is going *putt putt putt ZOOOM putt putt putt putt putt ZOOOM putt…* right now :( I noticed it shifting oddly about a week and a half ago. I told Tom that it felt like it was driving funny but he said it felt ok to him (pfft. What does he know? )

So then on Friday it stopped accelerating well and started doing this putt-putt thing and I was like “… GAH!” and THEN the check engine light turned on and I was like, “.. AHHHHH DON’T DIE TRUCK I’M SORRY I HAVEN’T GIVEN YOU A NAME YET!!!”

… speaking of which, my truck needs a name, please comment with ideas for me, I’m stumped. Dark blue/purple dodge dakota. Kthx.

Anyhow, I went to JiffyLube to have them tell me why the light was on and the dude said “ok my computer says the light is saying that Cylindar 4 is misfiring. I have no clue what that means.” and I was like, “I don’t either but thanks.” then putt-putted back home.

So Friday and Saturday I didn’t really go much of anywhere. I drove down to a shop on Saturday but they were closed, so yesterday I took it to Tom’s dad and we checked the spark plugs (I learned something new! He told me about how they work, in layman’s terms. *BOOM!* teehee). He says that if I have the spark plugs and the wires replaced, that should fix the problem. We ran a little tester thing between them, and while the plug on cylinder 4 *was* firing, it didn’t look too stable. The truck ran better for a while, with us kind of resetting that connection.

So yeah, Tom is going to replace those for me tonight and then hopefully Nameless will be all better Now. Any name ideas?!

Recuperating, la la la

Boy. What a weekend. When I came in to work today somebody was saying they wished it was Friday and I thought “… no way. I need this week to finish recovering!” Wheeeeeee.

Friday night me and Jeff went out really late cause he had to work. We went to The Sapphire (why do these types of places never have websites? srsly) cause that’s where my buddy from work works on the weekends. He got me a free drink, yay! It was a cute place. A little bit loud for normal conversation, but that is probably the point hehe. Afterward we talked with Ricky for a while, then went to have food cause I was le hungry. I love IHOP! :D

Then we had to get up early Saturday to take Vinz to training class. We just kind of had a review. Apparently my dog is training himself cause I haven’t worked with him at home as often as I should (I know, bad Katie :X) but he’s learning everything anyway. Cool. Now if only I could get him to mellow out a little lot.

Then after training I went with Hilary and Paula and Amber and we met some other dolly people at the Volk’s store which is a totally bad idea haha. I was good though and hardly spent any money at all unlike *ahem* some people ahahaha :D Google got us lost on the way there by telling us to get off the freeway on an exit that doesn’t even exist, wtf? Anyway, after Volk’s we all went to Mimi’s Cafe, which I totally do not recommend to anybody. The lemonade, and the brown bready-cakey thing that they brought out was good, but the food was sooooooo gross. Hilary actually sent hers back, that’s how bad it was, and I just kind of suffered through my caesar salad, because honestly, if you can’t make a decent caesar salad there is just no hope for any of your other food. Also, my blueberry muffin was insanely unimpressive.

So yes. After that we raced back to Hilary’s house so that Paula would not be too horribly late to babysitting and then me and Amber hung out there for awhile. Then I went home and I changed my clothes and did my makeup and stuck my emo-hat on my head because my hair was being uncooperative, and I totally forgot to take pictures for the day, oops.

Anyway then I stole Jeff’s car and drove a really really REALLY long way down Burbank Blvd (I honestly thought the 405 was a lot closer to my house than it is) and rolled in neutral down the freeway for awhile.. it’s great, the 405 is at enough of a downward angle that if you hit the gas until you hit 70, you can roll for MILES. Then I hit traffic and actually had to drive the rest of the way to Culver City. Went to my friends house, we went out with a bunch of his friends.. I had 1 AMF too many, bleh. Was in no condition to really walk, let alone drive my butt home so I had to crash there.

Got up in the morning, walked to the car… the tire I told Jeff needed to be replaced weeks ago is totally wasted. Flat as can be. No hopes of fixing it. Jeremy tried to change it but apparently the car takes a special key to get the tire off and I didn’t have it. So AAA came and informed me that I wasn’t going to be able to drive that far on a donut anyway. They offered to take me someplace that could get the tire off and sell me a new one and I was like “Pffft. I’m not saving Jeff the trouble of getting a new tire. Tow it home please, he can deal with it.” I was annoyed because EVERY TIME I tell Jeff he needs to do something and he doesn’t do it, it’s ME that has to deal with the fallout. My AAA covers me for 3 tows up to 100 miles so I took advantage of that. The tow truck left the car half a block up from the house and I have no idea what Jeff is going to do about it.

So that was a life experience, I’d never been towed before. I probably would have rather kept it that way but oh well. I went home and took a nap and played lots of video games, and now I am recovering. That is all.

Hello World

I don’t have any coherent thoughts to put together a well written post, but I do have enough semi-coherent thoughts to make a… written post

one: My earlobe hurts. My odd hole was half closed and that made me not happy because I like having an uneven number of piercings! So I reopened it with my sharpest earring (which is still pretty dull). Vaseline would have made it a much more pleasant experience but I didn’t have any.

two: My car is working. I took the battery out (read: Jeff stood there for 15 minutes with a pair of pliers unscrewing things and carrying the battery around for me) and had it tested.. the guy looked at the battery, looked at the reader, looked at me and said “Lady, this thing wouldn’t run a lawn mower!” hahaha. It was spitting out 2 volts of power. TWO VOLTS! That probably wouldn’t even run my Gameboy :| So I bought a new one and put it in (read: Jeff stood there for another 5 minutes with a pair of pliers re-screwing things) and viola, Betty turned on. Hopefully this will fix the stalling problem. At least I got the full 4 years out of the old battery.

three: The art school is DUMB. Nobody answers their phone and the operator doesn’t know anybody’s email address. WTF? They all follow the same format! Like here at work.. first initial, last name (in most cases. Mine isn’t like that for no apparent reason). Stupid stupid stupid. I bet those checks are going to get there today and I swear on everything holy if they send them back to the state again I will do something drastic like burn the school down. I stopped going there over a year ago, I should NOT still have to be dealing with these morons!!111eleventy-one! Yes I’m frustrated. I WANT MY REFUND DAMMIT!

four: Good weekend. Friday I played video games at the arcade and remembered exactly why DDR requires pants. << insert image of Katie hopping around holding her skirt down and almost falling over >>

I guess I deserved it for making Rob look like a dork though. Then we drove down big hills in neutral ignoring stop signs and it was great fun. Saturday I got my car fixed and had the oil changed. Played with Poopy. Watched a movie. Yelled at Jeff in the middle of the street at 1 in the morning. Bought mango Malibu and pineapple juice and watched (read: slept through 80% of) another movie. Then Sunday I cleaned the bedroom (sort of) and did a load of laundry. Went out to dinner with Hilary and Paula. Went to a comedy show with Jeff. That’s about it. What about you guys?

five: Clubhouse from Swork is the best coffee on earth kthxbye.
