Goodbye, my Love.

On Monday, I left my Vinz at a new home.

I love my little dog, with all my heart, and that’s why I had to give him up. Poor little dude was not happy here. He is so hyper and needs so much attention, I simply can’t keep up with him. Being left home 8 hours a day, even though I came home at lunch to play with him was just not going to work. He was crying every time I walked out the door, and making messes every where, and so on and so forth.

So after a thorough screening process, we went to meet a family on Monday. They have a very large, fenced back yard, and 4 kids who all immediately fell in love with him. The mother had been raising dogs most of her life and knew exactly what to do for all his little…quirks. Vinz was so excited to be playing with 3 kids at a time and running around outside that his little ears were shaking. After 2 hours I was convinced that they can give him a much happier life than I can.

Monday night was awfully lonely, and I had to sleep on the couch in the living room because I burst into tears walking into my bedroom and seeing his corner completely empty. Yesterday Tom kept me company. Today I miss my dog because he is not here trying to eat my dinner. I will miss him for a long time, but I know I did the right thing for him. Any doubts I might have had about the need to give him to someone else, for his sake, were completely obliterated when I came home today. I found a package on my door step with some toys and doggy biscuits with a note from “the little black doggy next door” saying that he was sending toys over for Vinz because “I hear you crying for so long in the morning, and I am sad that I cannot play with you for comfort you, so here, I am sharing my new toys with you”. I must go by and thank my neighbors for alleviating my last shreds of doubt.

With time, the sadness will fade as it sinks in more and more that it was better for both of us. And in time, when I’m more settled in my own life, and have a house with a yard, maybe I can try again. Vinz made me happy for the year I had him, even when he drove me absolutely nuts.

Vinz is Here!!

So Friday after work I began my 8 hour epic journey to Chico to pick Vinz up. The drive down was mostly uneventful and really damn long. I got there at like, 1:30 in the morning and I was exhausted after working all day and not sleeping the day before. Good times.

Vinz was so excited to see me! :D It was awesome, I missed my doggy. Friend Tom and my mom brought him halfway for me. Then the next day we went to breakfast and Vinz and I came home. The drive back was… mostly uneventful, and even longer cause I had to keep stopping trying to get Vinz to poop. He never did, bugger.

Oh well, the eventful part was when CHP pulled me over 20 miles from the border. They clocked me going 90 hahahaha. Oops. But then Vinz was being all buddy-buddy with the cop (who was quite confused when he saw my CA license with an address in Glendale, my registration with an address in Burbank, and my Oregon car insurance lmao) and so, the cop was like “tell you what, how about if I give you a warning on the speed, and a fix-it ticket because I can’t figure out where you actually live, so the DMV probably has no idea either.” and I was like “… that sounds good to me, I’ll let the DMV know I’m in Portland now, thanks :D” and Vinz was like, “hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi !!” and I was like “no dude, we are being pulled over, this is not exciting.”

That is all.

Back In Action

Whee. So I’m not sure why my site was down for days but it seems to be back up and running now.

So.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a rad movie. It would have been better w/o the masses of children in the theater though. Ah well. Anybody that hasn’t seen it, should. I grew up on TMNT!

300 was an even more rad movie if you’re into that kind of thing, which… I am :D “PERSIANS! COME AND GET THEM!!!”

I made chicken pineapple rice today and it was yummy, and I have some left over for lunch tomorrow.

And Vinz comes this weekend!

Life is gud.

This Is Titleless, Oh My!

At some point, I am quite sure I will eventually catch up on my sleep.  Just not anytime soon!

Busy busy weekend. Friday night The Sonia and I went on a misadventure and it was fun. First off, I couldn’t drive my truck normally for a few miles ‘cause the mechanic readjusted my clutch (apparently it was riding high, so I had to get used to it all over again because it was engaging in a different place).. so that was fun. THEN OMG WE GOT STUCK ON A BIG HILL LOOKING FOR PARKING o_O It was scurry. I was going up the hill,  but not fast enough so suddenly I was not moving. GAH. So Sonia starts hyperventilating and I’m like “GAAAAH OMG WHAT DO I DOOOOO?!?!?!?!” so I remembered that somebody said “lot’s of gas” so I gave it lots of gas and my tire squealed but I didn’t roll backwards :D I hope to never stop on a hill again haha.

So we finally found parking but the sign said we had to be out by 11. So we sprinted to the bar, and Carlton from Fresh Prince was there haha. Anyway me and Sonia grabbed a drink, drank it fast, talked about random things like we love to do and sprinted back to the truck at 10:56. YAY! So then we went to Hilary’s house and hung out there for a few hours and it was fun.

Then Saturday morning I took Vinz to Puppy Graduation and he was all sorts of excited for some reason. I mean, he’s always hyper… but this was extreme even by his standards. Weirdo. Anyway, after that I went to lunch with Jeff while he has his car washed. Then it started raining. Poor Jeff.

So then I was stuck in traffic on the 101 because I am an idiot and didn’t know that even though I was going south, I needed the 101 north to get to the 405. So eventually when I wound up in downtown LA and still hadn’t hit the freeway I figured out I went the wrong way. But at that point it was easier to take the other freeway and just chalk it up to going the long way to Culver City. I’m a special brand of stupid Once I hit the 110 I knew exactly where I was going, because that’s how I used to get to Santa Monica from Glendale. La la la.

Me and Jeremy played Wii for a while and I made a total dork of myself playing golf “Katie! We’re playing golf, not baseball!” Well whatever, I made it in the hole eventually  Actually, I played Wii for a long time. I started playing Zelda and like, an hour later I was like “…. oh man I’ve been playing this longer than I thought”. It was horridly fun and now I kind of want one. I made a Mii and it’s totally awesome.

Then we went to a party in a shady part of town and left after not too long because one of Jeremy’s friends was afraid he was going to die. That was the end of that *shrug* More Wii was played and it was funny watching people play bowling.

Sunday I went to go see my aunt from my dad’s side of the family. I hadn’t seen anybody in years… it was nice. I get my “no sense of direction whatsoever” from my dad’s side, along with the phrase “holy hell that’s obnoxious… I LOVE IT!” haha

Then (omg could this weekend possibly have been any more packed with things to do!?) I went to pick up Jeff, and we played video games, then went and had a very yummy sushi dinner (I love California rolls) and did laundry and watched half a movie before I was so exhausted I don’t even remember dragging my butt to bed.

And now I am at work, and my coworker is back from London and he brought me a totally rad fishie purse and an England Beanie and a key chain. I’ve been here an hour and a half and have yet to start actually working.
