attention span*

February 29th, 2008

Hey everyone! This is Colin from good ol’ therapy in the making! And as you can imagine I’m here for Free For All Friday.

So, as some of you may know, this is the first time I’m taking part in FFAF. In fact it is the first time I’m opening my own blog for FFAF. So once you’re done reading and commenting here, why don’t you come over my blog and show my guest bloggers and me some comment love? You can even guest blog yourself if you want!

I’m just killing time on this fine Friday night (it’s after 10pm here in Britain - wait, what am I doing in on a Friday night?) going around blogs, guest blogging and trying to comment on as many as I can and I have Buffy the Vampire Slayer playing in the background. I do that a lot and I don’t mean watching Buffy, I mean having some tv-series or film playing in the background while I do other things on my computer, even when I’m studying.

I used to just have music playing in the background instead but I have progressed to more exciting things I guess. What’s next? Will I go to the theatre or cinema to study? Anyway, my question is can you concentrate when reading or generally doing some task that requires a lot of attention if there is music or a film playing in the background? Or do you get distracted and start watching the film and singing along to the music instead of doing what you were supposed to be doing? I tend to do the second, yet I still keep having something with sound on when doing other things. I never learn!

Ooooh! I’ve just started watching the Once more with feeling episode. I love this one, it’s so cheesy and I’m sad to say, I know most of the lyrics (it’s a musical episode).
