Yep, so like I said in the closing paragraph of Spring Time!, moving servers is a HUGE headache. I have a laundry list of things that don’t work at all, work sometimes, will work after I completely restructure things, are stuck somewhere in the DNS world, etc etc etc.

Right now I’m working on why removing index.php from my URL’s works on some browsers and not others, and trying to figure out why the hell it was working for a day and then stopped working when I wasn’t even touching the sites at all.

Subdomains don’t work as easily as they used to, my email has to be outsourced, I don’t have a cpanel and nothing is where I expect it to be. It’s driving me up the wall.

I’m looking forward to everything being done, I can’t even tell you how close I am to ripping out all my hair. Just a status update. I’m going out of town this weekend and really hoping my websites don’t self destruct.

Can I just say that Spring time makes me ridiculously happy? Cause it does! Portland is still rainy sometimes but we had a few days of clear skys and warm weather and the weather guy says it’s supposed to be nice like that again in a few days. I’m really looking forward to nice weather. Rain is nice and all but I miss the sunshine. I wish I could get a tan up here!

But yea, spring! Believe it or not I actually love bright colors. All the flowers and trees (and yes my allergies will start acting up and then I’ll hate Spring, but that hasn’t happened yet!) and cute clothes! I need to set my sewing machine up somewhere so I can make a ton of skirts and buy a bunch of footless tights and more flats. I found some really cute patterns that I think I can manage (sewing in a straight line isn’t as easy as it sounds ) Spring also makes me kind of crafty. I need to go buy supplies!

In other news, things on all my sites and most sites in the KSF Bloglomerate may be a little wonky for the next week or so; we’re moving servers and that is going to be a huge headache and things *will* go wrong, so don’t be surprised.

At long last, the new layout is up!!

I’ve still got some tweaking to do; I want to redo the Links page especially, but as far as I can tell, everything is functional. I’m particularly happy with the Archives; I like them!

I made some rather fundamental backend changes though, so if anything seems broken, PLEASE let me know so I can fix it! I’m tired right now… it’s kind of late and I’ve been coding for hours and drinking beer.

I bought katiewagner.com with the intention of making it my photography and portfolio site almost a year ago. I recently started getting notices from GoDaddy saying that my domain is about to renew. That’s when I decided I should actually, you know, PUT something on the domain (what a novel concept!).

So I made a layout and put up some of the content. It’s not done yet, so a couple sections say “coming soon” (I plan on being done by the end of next week) but I wanted some feedback. You all should hop over, then come back here and tell me what you think, or if you have any suggestions (since the contact section is not up yet haha).

Man. I don’t know what’s going on, but everything has been jussst a little bit odd this past week. My world has a bug! OH NOES!!! I’m a little bit delirious today and I’m not sure why.

Anyhow. KSF To-Go is not working right at the moment. So if anybody has visited in the past 2 weeks and noticed any anomolies with it, that’s why. The nice folks over at ExpressionEngine are trying to help me get it fixed though, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

What else… I have terrible allergies and stuff this week. That’s no fun. I had to go home early yesterday cause I couldn’t shake the benedryll I had taken the night before to be able to breathe… luckily I had bonus time so it all worked out for me.

There were some other things buggy I was gonna talk about but my brain seems to be buggy too and now I don’t remember.

Really…... I just want to take a nap.

How’s everybody else?

Oh man. I have been SO miserable the last couple days! It seems to be getting to be springtime around here and man, the allergies are kicking in!

Yesterday my eyeballs were burning and I couldn’t see clearly. It was great fun! (/sarcasm) Today I woke up and I couldn’t breathe. I knew it was gonna be a good day heh. Then my nose started being all runny, then the eyes got itchy again and I couldn’t see. I came home and had lots of sugar but that didn’t help haha. So I took some promethazine a little while ago (I can’t wait to get all the pharmaceutical spam now, woot! more sarcasm there) and I am currently waiting for it to knock me out. I’m getting pretty close… my eyes are getting tired. Apparently it’s a multi functional medication… it will make my allergies feel better, make my tummy feel better, and act as a mild antipsychotic! Score!! My doctor rocks.

In all seriousness though, I do need to find a good allergy medication that won’t put me to sleep. Benadryl knocks me out too (but nothing like this sweet little white pill!) and that just is no good when I have to work. Claritin doesn’t work for me… I’m all out of ideas. Any suggestions? Just keep in mind that anything that comes with a warning label of “may cause drowsiness” has a 99% chance of putting me to sleep. But I miss being able to breathe!

In other totally unrelated news, I updated my EE and it didn’t go well. It never does LOL. Not by any fault of EE of course, but just my terrible luck. Now I remember why I hadn’t done it haha. But, all is well now.

Annnnnnddddd the sleep is coming. Must…. drag…. self… to…. bedroom….... *blacks out*

So, I just bought and installed Mint. Cause you know, I like to spend money to find out that I am not popular in any way, shape, or form hahaha. Oh well. I like to look at pretty stats. It should be fun. Maybe get me to be more active again. I don’t post enough, do I?

Ok everybody! The new layout is up! I’ve tried to test it, but I’m sick, and I’m exhausted, so things might still be wonky. PLEASE let me know if you find something that doesn’t work.

Two things I already know though:
~ The javascript for the smilies is broken, AGAIN. Yeah. I know. I’ll fix that eventually. I think it keeps breaking with updates cause it’s th same code my friends site is using.
~ The calender CSS code looks strange in certain browsers. I need to rewrite the whole CSS for it, but I don’t really feel like figuring out how it’s styled right now. Give me a few days, weeks.. whatever. I don’t think it breaks the layout but if it does, please let me know what browser and resolution you use.

Anyway, please let me know what you think

So as you’ve noticed (at least, if anybody still comes here ) the new layout has been delayed. My only explanation is that I got distracted by Tom, and Need for Speed that we got for Wii a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and Thanksgiving.

In unrelated news, it’s cold here. It’s all of like, 34 degrees. It’s 67 back in Glendale. I’m jealous.

I was a little bit behind on the times, and a version behind EE. Oops. My poor little blog has been neglected. But no more! I plan to fix this, mmmmhmm! So yesterday I installed the latest version of ExpressionEngine, and boy did Vista give me crap for trying to do so. SmartFTP decided to stop working, which sucks. Dreamweaver wouldn’t connect to my server, which also sucks. I wound up having to download CuteFTP which is cool, but I’ll be sad in 30 days when my trial runs out. Then my internet kept dropping. It wasn’t my day haha.

Anyhow! That is all taken care of now. Last night, I found a killer free (open source) template that I love (yes, I’m getting lazy with my web design, shush!) and I hooked up my XP box and modified the images and CSS to better suit my site. So over the next couple days I just need to write up the EE code and make all my pages.
